PASA Team
I think that the job that stands out the most to me is Special Projects Coordinator. The description on the TEAM page says that this job; "organizes PASA’s network of credit bearing high school courses, part of the Rhode Island Department of Education’s initiative, Advanced Course Network"
I then looked into what the Advanced Course Network was from PASA's website here is the description
"Through the Advanced Coursework Network (ACN), a Rhode Island Department of Education Initiative, Rhode Island students have access to free advanced courses that enable them to graduate high school as college and career-ready individuals, with the skills, knowledge, college credits and/or industry credentials that match their interests. This exciting course catalog ranges from advanced placement, dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment, and career pathway course offerings."
And what PASA's role in the program is; "As part of ACN, PASA offers a network of career exploration courses. Through these courses, students receive industry exposure and hands-on, work based learning expeirences. Youth also receive ½ or full high school credit after completing the course. PASA’s courses focus on building an array of career-specific and social-emotional skills among students. Each course has student-level goals that include a combination of content-specific learning outcomes and workforce skill building. ... PASA believes that by providing students with pathways of relevant, hands-on learning opportunities in real world settings, our ACN courses excite and engage Rhode Island’s high school students and set them up for success in school, higher education, career, and throughout life."
This is something I feel partly aligns with what I am doing at Central High school and what NUA does in their program but this seems to be on a more official level because youth can receive school credits for these programs and are more related to specific jobs. While PASA mainly focuses on middle school aged youth and I have more of an interest in critical work with high school youth this job would definitely be a good fit for me.
What looks challenging about this program is the intimidating work I would be doing with the Rhode Island Department of Education. Mostly because of from my knowledge of the Department of Education I don't feel as my views on education align with theirs.
Emily George holds this job at PASA. She has a BA in Sociology from Quinnipiac University, and a Master of Science in Ecological Teaching and Learning from Lesly University. After googling her and the specific job nothing seemed to pop up.

I think my question would be what types of requirements or traits PASA does look for in an employee since I could not seem to find anything concrete!
